How to Customize a Leatherman Multitool

Leatherman multitools combine knife blades with common handheld tools. These devices pack into a self-enclosed housing for easy transport. Leatherman makes a series of accessories to complement and customize your own Leatherman multitool. Sheathes, additional bits for sockets and screwdrivers, clips and replacement or specialized tools are available to make the multitool in your kit relevant to your activities and needs.

      Bring your Leatherman to an engraving shop, and have it custom engraved with a special message or your name. If using the multitools for gifts such as wedding gifts for groomsmen, have them engraved with each man's name and the date of the wedding.

      Purchase and install aftermarket Leatherman tools. Leatherman sells replacement blades and tools you can use in place of current tools. Use the dedicated Leatherman tool to unscrew the housing retaining bolt to add the new and custom tools.

      Have a custom sheath made or designed germane to the activity for which you plan to use the multitool. For example, if you use the multitool for rafting trips, have a custom sheath made from old raft material.

      Purchase custom bits for the multitool's small sockets and ratchet device. Metric and imperial sized bits are available through Leatherman.
