How to Measure for a Fitted Baseball Cap

Many baseball players, particularly professional players, wear fitted caps. These caps do not have the adjustable bands or straps in the rear of the cap that one-size-fits-all caps have. Instead, they come in specific sizes based on the circumference of your head's crown. Like a pair of shoes, a fitted cap requires taking a measurement to get a proper fit. Due to the location of the measurement, have a friend assist.

Instructions

    • 1

Have your assistant wrap the measuring tape around your head, about 2 inches above your eyebrows. This is your crown or sweat line.

    • 2

      Write down the measurement.

    • 3

Compare the measurement to a fitted-hat conversion chart to get your fitted cap size. For example, if your head measurement is 22 1/8 inches, your fitted cap size is 7 3/8, according to the conversion chart.
