1
Cut out four pieces of scrap chamois cloth about 1 foot by 1 foot each. Place one piece on the work bench where the ski tip will be placed and one for the ski tail.
-
2
Place the ski onto the work bench, on top of the chamois pieces. Place one piece of cloth onto the tip of the ski and one on the tail.
-
3
Slide the C-clamps over the cloth and turn the handle clockwise to secure the ski to the work bench. The C-clamps act as the vise, and the cloth protects the ski surfaces. This method allows access to the ski's edge should you need to tune and sharpen them, as well as access to the bindings.
-
4
Remove the C-clamps and flip the skis upside down. Place the 8-inch wood blocks under the ski to keep the bindings off the bench and put the cloth over the ski tips and tails. Slide the C-clamps over the cloth and secure them to the bench. This allows access to the ski base, allowing for waxing and scraping.
