How to Stop When Rollerblading
Nothing compares to the feel of going downhill as fast as you can on a pair of roller blades. But what happens when something crosses your path and you need to stop on a dime? That's when you have to make use of the rubber stopper on the back of a blade.

1
Start by lifting your toes and pushing your heel down on the roller blade with the stopper. You should feel the stopper start to drag on the ground. The harder you do this, the sooner you'll stop.
-
2
Bring your legs together so your ankles are less than 4 inches apart. This will cut down on drag.
-
3
Bend the knee of your leg that does not have the stopper. This will provide negative resistance and help you stop.
-
4
Look for a slight incline or something to latch onto. The incline will slow you down and let you roll backward to a stop. Grabbing onto a fence can also help stop you if you lose control.
