How to Find Your Skateboard Size by Shoe Size

Purchasing a skateboard can be a tough decision. You have to think about a deck design, type of wheels, grip tape and riser pads. However, the most important decision is whether you want a traditional skateboard or a longboard. Traditional boards are shorter and used for street and trick riding. Longboards are longer in length and generally used for cruising and downhill racing. There are so many variables that go into choosing the right skateboard, that it really boils down to personal preference. But shoe size can provide a good starting point.

Instructions

Decide whether you want to purchase a traditional skateboard or a longboard. Traditional boards are generally less than 33 inches long; whereas longboards range from 33 to 59 inches long.

Consider what type of skateboarding you plan to do when deciding the width of your board. The width of most skateboards range from 7.5 to 8.25 inches. For ramps and vertical skating, purchase a wider board. For street skating, go with a narrower board.
