Skateboard Parks in Dallas

Practically every major city in the United States has seen a boom in skateboard-friendly parks over the last decade and Dallas is no exception. Both the city of Dallas and the surrounding areas have numerous skateparks, including one run by the city of Dallas itself. These parks offer a controlled environment for beginner and advanced skaters with a variety of purpose-built equipment.
  1. Woodward

    • Woodward Dallas is an indoor park run by Woodward Skateparks, which also runs parks in Denver, Atlanta and Philadelphia. Located in Grapevine, it sells sessions for skateboards and bikes in two hour blocks. It features lots of smooth wooden street structures, rails, funboxes, spine transfers, miniramps and quarter pipes and they offer equipment rentals and lessons.

    Eisenbergs

    • Eisenbergs, located in Plano, was built in 1997 by the family of pro rollerblader Arlo Eisenberg. It is an indoor park with an abundance of wooden street structures, miniramps, quarterpipes and rails. Equipment is available to rent.

    Lakeland Hills

    • The Lakeland Hills Skatepark is operated by the city of Dallas. Intended only for skateboarders, it is a free park designed by pro skater Dorian Tucker. However, the company that built the equipment, Skatewave, has come under fire for shoddy construction and materials at other locations. Lakeland Hills features street structures and quarterpipes, all made from artificial materials.

    GPX

    • Grand Prairie's public skatepark, known as GPX, is managed by Action Park Alliance, which runs parks in Orlando, FL and Fontana, CA. GPX is an indoor/outdoor park with wooden street structures, rails, quarterpipes and miniramps. Lessons and summer skate camps are available. Friday nights are "Fight Night", with open games of Skate (similar to "Horse" in basketball) where skaters attempt to match each other's tricks.
