Sheboygan County, Wisconsin Snowmobile Trails

Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, is home to 228 miles of groomed snowmobiling trails, typically opening in early to mid December. Snowmobile trail maps are available at the Sheboygan County Planning Department or through the North Kettle Moraine Snowmobile Association. Local snowmobiling clubs provide trail maps to club members as well. Trail status can change rapidly, so always check with the North Kettle Moraine Snowmobile Association for status updates prior to setting out.
  1. State Corridor Trails

    • State trails in Sheboygan County run along the major interstate highways with the exception of Interstate 43. Interstates 1, 3 and 5 running north and south feature Wisconsin corridor trails the length of the state. Trails also run along east and west Interstates 30 and 34.

    Club Trails

    • Sheboygan County snowmobiling clubs maintain at least as many miles of trails for snowmobiling as the State of Wisconsin. The club trails are much more intricate than the state trails, winding all over Sheboygan County like a web, though the southeast quadrant of the county features only one straight-line club trail, roughly between Interstate 43 and Interstate 3. Due to the complexity of the club trail system, it is absolutely necessary that riders refer to the trail map frequently.

    Drop-Off Points

    • The trail map is divided into four areas of Sheboygan County, roughly along Interstates 30 and 3, and indicates drop-off points for both club and state corridor trails. Drop-off points in Area 1, the northeast corner of Sheboygan County, are found along Interstate 30, just northeast of Plymouth and on Playbird Road, between Interstates 1 and 43. In Area 2 to the northwest, drop-off points are located along Interstate 5 near Lake Sheboygan and in New Holstein. In the southwest Area 4, drop-off points are located at the southernmost point of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, plus two points farther north along Interstate 5 through the state forest. Area 3 to the southeast does not contain any drop-off points.
