There are many ways to improve rifle shooting accuracy but the most important part begins with the weapon. Most guns have unique factors that someone must understand to be accurate with that weapon. A shooter must understand that the sights on some guns need to be changed to fit the needs of the situation. The distance and weapon's range must also be taken in accountability.

In a nutshell take some time to learn whether your rifle fires high at close range and what distance the bullet starts to drop. As I mentioned earlier some guns need to be aimed differently according to the sights.

The next step is a very basic step but one that is sometimes ignored all the same. You want to hold the rifle firmly against your shoulder when you fire. This not only increases shooting accuracy but prevents you from hurting your arm or shoulder in the process.

The third step is another one seen as basic but is very important. I was always taught that you need to take a deep breath right before you're about to fire. This makes your aim more steady thus increasing rifle shooting accuracy.

If you're using an automatic weapon then the use of 3-5 shot bursts will lead to increased accuracy. When you fire an automatic weapon it naturally moves causing a spreading action with can be inaccurate at times. If you fire in bursts you can reposition the weapon and fire for more accuracy.

The last and maybe most important step is to clean your weapon. A gun is just like any other item with mechanical parts. After repeated use the rifle will lose some effectiveness and need repairs. The top snipers and marksmen clean their weapons daily.
