How to Shoot an Assault Rifle

1
Pick up the assault rifle and make sure that the weapon is unloaded. Check that you ejected the magazine and that there is no bullet in the chamber. To confirm this, pull back on the bolt lever and look at the chamber end of the barrel.
-
2
Look down range and make sure it is clear. You should never be loading or emptying your weapon when someone is down range from you. Wait until all shooting has finished before preparing for the next round.
-
3
Load your magazine and make sure that it clicks in place. Pull back on the bolt lever and chamber a bullet. Put the safety on, and rest your weapon back on the table with the barrel pointed down range.

Pick up the weapon when the shoot command is given. Grasp the grip with your shooting hand. You can hold it much like a pistol grip, but keep your finger away from the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Lift the front of the weapon with your other hand. Stretch your arm out in front of you until your arm and hand are supporting the stock portion of the barrel. Place the butt of the stock between your shoulder and your chest. Pull tightly back on the stock to minimize the kick of the rifle when it fires.
