Ideas for Displaying Baseballs
-
Baseball Display of Fame
-
Display your baseballs in a glass door display case that would normally be used for knicknacks or trophies. Turn clear plain drinking glasses upside down and use them as stands to hold the baseballs. Use glasses of different heights to give appeal and lines to your display. Simple business cards printed with the information on where you got the ball and who signed it can be placed leaning up against the glass the ball is sitting on. This gives you your own baseball display of fame.
Table Cubes
-
If you have a home with limited space for displaying things, put the baseballs in the clear baseball display cubes. These plastic cubes hold a single ball and they can be stacked on top of each other. Display the balls on a table, counter top or bar. If you have enough baseballs in your collection, stack the cubes one on top of another in a pyramid display pattern.
Baseball Mobiles
-
Hang the baseballs off the ceiling in a teen's room, much like you would for displaying model airplanes or mobiles. Drill a hole on the top of the clear plastic baseball cubes and use fishing line to hang them from the ceiling. Display your teen's baseballs by hanging them in his bedroom off of small hooks that are screwed in all over the ceiling. He will be proud to tell the story of their origin when his friends visit.
Baseball Aquarium
-
Use a clean, dry aquarium to make a display case for your baseballs. Tape a baseball-themed picture to the back of the fish tank so that it can be seen from the front, and line the bottom with pieces of felt. Put a few old baseball gloves on the bottom of the aquarium to hold a few of your prized baseballs. Place the other balls all over the tank, raising some off the bottom of the tank by putting them on top of a clear drinking glass turned upside down. Once the aquarium top goes back on, the light will illuminate the collection just like a professional display. case. Use business cards to tell a small story about each baseball and lean the cards up against the balls.
Window Top Display
-
The space above an average home's window is just the right amount needed to build a single self to put your baseballs on. Cut empty paper towel or toilet paper rolls in pieces that are just a few inches high and cover them with colored felt. Place them on top of the shelf to use as your baseball holders. If you want the baseballs to sit at different heights on your shelf, cut the holders different sizes, just as long as they will fit in the space with a baseball on top of it.
Wall Peg Display
-
Your baseballs can be displayed on pegs that are put in rows down a wall. This can be done at home with a tool peg board and pegs hung on your wall. The balls fit neatly in between the rows of pegs, allowing a small area of the wall to hold quite a few of your baseballs (see References).
