How to Get Tickets to the NCAA Women's Sweet 16

"March Madness" typically centers around the sport of men's basketball, but over the past few years, NCAA women's basketball has not only become more exciting and competitive, it has become a popular spectator sport. The women's NCAA tournament is seeded and staged just as is the men's, and the sweet 16--the 16 teams competing for the final 4 places in the national finals--can compete at a ferocious pace. Seeing that competition in person can be a basketball blast.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit one of the websites that discusses NCAA women's basketball to see who is favored, what coaching changes have been made and when the season opens.

    • 2

Go to the webpage at the NCAA website to check on the timing and the venues for the games involved in the woman's tournament. These change on an annual basis.

    • 3

Realize that the "Sweet 16" portion of the tournament is the same as the REGIONAL tournaments, of which there are two.

    • 4

Choose which of the two regional tournaments you want to attend. The sweet 16 usually takes place on the last weekend in March. (In 2008, it is on March 29 and 31.)

    • 5

Call the number listed by the NCAA to purchase tickets.

    • 6

Call early. For the 2008 women's finals--the "Final 4"--tickets were already sold out in the middle of October, 2007.
