Buckeye Nut Wreath
-
Make a wreath out of buckeye nuts. You’ll need a grapevine wreath form, enough buckeyes to cover the wreath, a glue gun and scarlet and grey ribbon. You also can cover the buckeyes with a layer of varnish to give them extra shine. Glue the nuts in pattern to cover the wreath form. Use the smaller buckeyes to fill in any empty spaces between the larger nuts. Finish off the wreath by tying a braided ribbon in the colors of Ohio State, or add a miniature ball in the center.
Buckeye Mittens
-
Make a Christmas ornament for the young Buckeye fans in your house. Cut a pair of mitten shapes out of red craft foam, and the cuffs of the mitten from grey foam. Glue the cuffs to each mitten and tie them together. Paint an Ohio State related design on each mitten. Ideas include a football jersey, the mascot Bucky, the numbers of your favorite player or Santa dressed in an Ohio State outfit. Once the paint has dried, hang the mittens on the Christmas tree.
Christmas Stocking
-
Make an Ohio State-themed Christmas stocking. For those who are talented knitters, alternate rows of scarlet and grey yarn to make stripes. If you aren’t a knitter, you can sew a stocking together using fabric or purchase a regular stocking and decorate it with Ohio State memorabilia
Decoupage Christmas Box
-
Purchase a wooden box in the shape of a Christmas tree or other holiday shape. Cut out pictures related to Ohio State to make a decoupage box. This is done by gluing the pictures onto the box in a collage fashion. Once the glue has dried, cover all of the paper and wood with a layer of decoupage glue to seal the surface.
