Framing and Hanging
-
1
Find a frame store that specializes in jerseys. Call around to various stores or stop in for visits. Usually a store will show you examples of its work. Settle on a store that frames jerseys to your liking. Another alternative is to visit an online site such as Jersey Pro. However, Jersey Pro's frames, which cost $250 in late 2009, are pricier than those at some local options.

2
Choose a mat color and frame. Whether you go to a frame store or buy a frame online, you will need to pick out a frame style and a mat color. Choose a color that will accentuate your jersey as it rests on the mat. Do not go for a color that will drown out your jersey. The same goes for the frame. Ornate frames usually do not suit jerseys well. Think instead of a simple, strong option that will bring out the best features of your jersey.

3
Decide where to hang your frame. Pick a part of the house that is not in the way of too much activity--lest something happen to your jersey--but visible enough for guests to see. Do not hang your frame on a wall that has pictures. Your jersey should stand alone to ensure that it's the centerpiece of the room.

4
Choose a picture hook. Popular Mechanics recommends J hooks. The hook has a nail that goes into the wall at an angle. Ask your frame store if it has J hooks.
-
5
Measure your frame's dimensions and account for how far the frame will hang from the hook. This will determine how high off the floor to place the hook. Make sure your frame is in the center of the wall at eye level for maximum aesthetic appeal. Hammer the hook into the wall and place your frame on the hook. Use a level to ensure that the frame is straight.
