Instructions

1
Fold your football jersey as you would like it displayed in the frame. Measure its length and width as folded.
-
2
Purchase a frame, mat, backing board and Plexiglas sheet that will accommodate those measurements, with a 1-inch clearance on all sides. Frames can cost anywhere from $50 to $500, depending on the material and quality.
-
3
Lay the mat flat on a table and place the jersey on top of it in your chosen position.
-
4
Thread your needle, then sew the back of the jersey to the mat at the bottom of the jersey and at the start of each sleeve. Make sure the thread only goes through the back layer of the jersey so it doesn't show.
-
5
Place your football gloves in the chosen position and sew them to the mat using a needle and thread. Be sure the thread only goes through the back layer of each glove.
-
6
Place the mat on top of the backing board. Pull the paper off of the Plexiglas, and lay the Plexiglas on top of the jersey and gloves.
-
7
Tape the mat, backing board and Plexiglas together so that nothing moves.
-
8
Connect the top and two sides of the shadowbox frame together at the corners. Slide the matted jersey and gloves into the frame and attach the bottom of the frame to complete it.
-
9
Check all of the frame's corners to make sure they are both straight and tight. Place spring clips in the gap between the board and the frame for a tighter fit.
-
10
Attach the wire to the back of the frame using the mounting hardware to hang your jersey and gloves on a wall.
