How to Decorate Strawberries Like a Football

When you have friends over to watch a football game on television, the menu typically consists of food such as pizza, chicken wings and nachos. Following the completion of the main course, your guests might be interested in dessert but too full to indulge in a rich, chocolate cake decorated with your favorite football team's logo. Instead, give them a light treat in the form of chocolate-dipped strawberries decorated like footballs.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill the bottom half of a double boiler with water and put it on the stove on "Medium" heat. While the water is heating, dice the chocolate finely with a sharp knife. Milk and semisweet chocolate are both acceptable for this recipe.

    • 2

Place the diced chocolate in the top of the double boiler and stir it steadily with a spatula until it melts.

    • 3

Wash the fresh strawberries thoroughly under cold water but do not remove their stems. Cover a baking sheet with waxed paper.

    • 4

Dip the strawberries in the chocolate one by one and rotate them completely until the chocolate covers their entire surface. Carefully set each dipped berry on the baking sheet and place the sheet in the fridge for 30 minutes once you've dipped all the berries.

Draw football-related accents on the berries with white icing. For ease, buy a squeezable tube of white decorative icing instead of mixing your own. Draw football stitches down the center of each strawberry and draw a circle around each end to mimic a football's stripes.
