1
Nock one practice arrow onto the bow and take a practice shot. Listen for a clean release and watch for any wobbling in the arrow as it flies the trajectory to the target. A bow string that remains vibrating after the arrow leaves the string, along with a wobbling arrow, indicates the nock is loose and needs to be tightened.
-
2
Retrieve the arrow and grip the nock with your fingertips. Turn it 1/4-turn clockwise and take another practice shot. Continue to make 1/4-turn adjustments until all post-shot vibration is gone from the bowstring and the arrow flies true on the trajectory.

3
Place the nock-adjustment tool -- a device that looks like a small circular vise with a rod to turn on the top -- over the arrow nock and turn the dial until the tool touches the nock. Stop turning and press the set-lever. This sets a static point for all other arrows in your quiver.
-
4
Place the tool over the nock of another arrow and turn the handle until the nock turns and goes down to the lock-lever position.
-
5
Repeat Step 4 with all arrows in the quiver to get consistent nock points for your arrows.
