1
Remove the old plastic nock. Pull it off with pliers if possible. Heat the nock with a flame from a candle or lighter for several seconds to loosen the glue if it doesn't come off with pliers. Keep the flame far from the feathers if possible.
-
2
Use fine-grit sandpaper to sand away any glue remaining on the arrow shaft.
-
3
Place a drop of urethane glue onto the top of the arrow shaft. Use a toothpick to evenly distribute the glue throughout the area where the nock will go.
-
4
Push the nock into place over the end of the arrow. Line the two prongs of the nock up so they fall between any two of the feathers. Hold the arrow up to your eye and look down the shaft, checking that the nock is straight and aligned with the rest of the arrow. Perform this task immediately, before the glue sets. Make any adjustments as necessary.
-
5
Allow adequate drying time according to the directions on your specific glue product before shooting the arrow.
