How to Attach a Crank to My Cross Bow

Crossbow cranking devices allow you to cock a crossbow using as little as 9 lbs. of force to operate. The device works like a fishing reel, hooking the bow string and winding it back to be cocked. Cranking devices allow archers who are physically unable to cock their weapon to still shoot it. Certain cranking devices will only work on crossbows made by the same manufacturer. Cranking devices attach in various manners, as some slip over the butt, others slide over the stock itself and some are mounted to the butt-plate. These directions will work for cranking devices that need to be mounted to the butt-plate.
