How to Move a Portable Basketball

Portable basketball hoops allow you to play in your driveway without having to permanently cement a pole in your yard. A portable basketball hoop can be moved in and out of the playing area at will. This comes in handy during inclement weather when you do not want a basketball hoop to get battered by the elements. Moving the basketball hoop takes two to three adults to complete.

Instructions

    • 1

Adjust the portable basketball hoop to the lowest setting. Many portable basketball hoops have a range from 7 to 10 feet tall. Lower the hoop by pressing in the pins found in the pole and sliding the hoop down. If the backboard itself moves, press the clips on the underside of the backboard, using a pole such as a broomstick, to lower the backboard to the lowest setting.

    • 2

Tip the portable basketball hoop forward until the wheels in the front of the base are touching the ground.

    • 3

Roll the unit to the desired location.

    • 4

Lower the portable basketball unit by standing it straight up until the base makes contact with the ground. If using two people, have one brace the unit's back while the other lowers the front. Allow the portable basketball hoop to rest on level ground.
