Instructions for How to Mount Kryptonite EZ Mount Bracket

Almost every avid cyclist is familiar with the popular Kryptonite bike lock systems. They sell several different lock models, and they come in different shapes and sizes. If you're sick of riding around with your lock in your backpack or dangling from your bike frame, consider buying the EZ Mount Bracket. This small device wraps around a tube on your bike frame and allows you to slip your lock in and out of it. The bracket comes in three pieces: A mount that wraps around your bike tube, a leather strap to add some protection between the bike tube and the mount, and a metal piece that slides onto the lock and allows you to mount it onto the bracket.

      Unlock your Kryptonite lock and remove the locking bar. Hold the lock so that the "U" is upside down.

      Slide the metal piece of the bracket kit onto your lock from the bottom. Make sure the latch is facing up and outward when you slide it on the lock. Secure it by tightening the built-in screw using the wrench that comes with the bracket kit.

      Wrap the bracket piece of the kit around a tube where you would like to mount your lock. It usually fits best on the tube beneath your seat, but wherever you choose to place it is completely up to you. Make sure it is easily accessible for sliding your lock in and out of, and that it does not get in the way of your riding.

      Slip the protective leather piece between the bracket and your bike tube, and tighten the bracket into place by pulling the strap though its designated slot on the bracket. Since this bracket is meant to secure a 10-pound lock while you're riding, it is really hard to pull the strap through the hole. You may need to use a pair of pliers to strengthen your grip as you pull.

      Use the wrench that came with your kit to tighten the built-in screw on the side of the bracket to further secure it. Slide your lock into the bracket by lining up the metal piece on your lock with the slot on the bracket and pushing the the lock into the bracket. To remove the lock, press the quick-release trigger on the bracket and pull your lock out of the bracket.
