Division Two Colleges in Indiana

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) contains three divisions. Division II is the intermediate division, and offers scholarship-level athletics at a less competitive level than Division I. Indiana is home to four colleges and universities that compete in NCAA Division II athletics.
  1. University of Indianapolis

    • The University of Indianapolis is a private university that was founded in 1902. The school maintains an affiliation with the United Methodist Church. As of 2009, about 5,000 students attended the University of Indianapolis. The university has 10 men's sports teams and 10 women's sports teams known as the "Greyhounds." The Greyhounds compete in NCAA Division II athletics. The university's teams are also associated with the Great Lakes Valley Conference and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

    Saint Joseph's College of Indiana

    • Saint Joseph's College of Indiana, commonly referred to as Saint Joe, is a private liberal arts college that was founded in 1889. The school remains affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. As of 2009, about 1,000 undergraduates attended Saint Joseph's College. The college has eight men's sports teams and nine women's sports teams. The Saint Joseph "Pumas" compete in NCAA Division II athletics and in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

    Oakland City University

    • Oakland City University is a private university that was founded in 1885. The university is affiliated with the General Baptist Church. As of 2009, the school had about 2,350 undergraduates. The university has six men's sports teams and seven women's sports teams. The Oakland City University "Mighty Oaks" compete in NCAA Division II athletics and in the National Christian College Athletic Association.

    • The University of Southern Indiana is a public research university that was founded in 1965. As of 2009, the school had about 9,600 undergraduates and 860 graduate students. The university has seven men's sports teams and eight women's sports teams. The University of Southern Indiana "Screaming Eagles" compete in NCAA Division II athletics and in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
