Division 2 Colleges in Missouri

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) categorizes colleges and universities based on the size of the school and competitive ability of their sports teams. The NCAA features 288 Division II schools, including more than 10 colleges in Missouri. Division II schools must field at least 10 sports teams, with at least two teams for each gender. The school must also feature participating teams during the fall, winter and summer months.

    • Located in Springfield, Missouri, Drury University competes in the Great Lakes Valley Conference amongst 15 other schools, including the University of Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky University. Drury University student-athletes participate in 17 intercollegiate sports, including men's and women's basketball, golf, soccer and tennis. During the 2009-2010 school year, Drury University nabbed national titles in both men's and women's swimming and diving. Season tickets may be purchased for men's and women's basketball, as well as baseball.

    Northwest Missouri State University

    • As a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Northwest Missouri State University competes in 12 sports, including football, women's volleyball, and men's and women's tennis. Bearcat Stadium, home to the university's football and track and field team, dates back to 1917, but was renovated with luxury suites and a video board in the early 2000s. Bearcat Arena plays host to the volleyball and the men's and women's basketball teams. The 2,500-seat arena includes offices, a basement-dwelling fitness center and resides next to the state-of-the-art Student Recreation Center.

    University of Missouri--St. Louis

    • The University of Missouri-St. Louis fields 11 men's and women's sports teams, including softball, baseball and women's volleyball. Teams compete under the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The university offers first-rate facilities, including the UMSL Baseball Field, completed in 2009. The stadium features a press box, covered bleachers for 200, lawn seating and an electronic scoreboard. The Mark Twain Building, which houses the school's basketball and volleyball teams, seats more than 4,700 spectators. It also includes a weight room, a swimming pool and an indoor jogging track.
