Make a compilation of video from practice or competition that highlights the athlete's skills. Sending multiple videotapes would be overload to a recruiter, so pick and choose only positive highlights to be viewed.

Get coaches to write letters of recommendation. Recreational or high school coaches can write these letters. They should be positive, and focus on the skills that the athlete possesses to help make him successful at the college level.

Return any and all information requested by colleges quickly. This applies to the coaches and athletes. If a college requests information from the athlete or coaches, they are usually considering the athlete for recruitment. In order to increase the chances of being recruited, the information should be returned in a timely and professional manner.

Attend any camps or competitions held at the college. Also, any events sponsored by the college are a great way to get noticed. Most of the time, the coaching staff for the college rifle team are in charge of the camps or competitions. This is a good time to make a positive impression on the coaches and recruiters.

Have a good attitude. Attitude is a very important factor when recruiters are looking for possible athlete recruits. Demonstrate good sportsmanship at every opportunity.
