1
Set the budget. Gift baskets can be expensive. Be sure to include the cost of the basket, filler and cellophane wrapping.
-
2
Select the right football for the recipient. Every football gift basket should include a football. Perhaps it's an authentic, professional grade football or simply a foam football for games in the yard. If the recipient has a dog, add a toy football for the dog.
-
3
Add snacks and drinks. Football games, snacks and drinks -- beer or soda -- commonly go together. Whether the fan watches at home or at the stadium, the recipient needs snacks like chips, peanuts and pretzels.
-
4
Include jerseys, hats or fan paraphernalia. While shirts and hats are great for showing team spirit, giant foam fingers, megaphones and team flags are also fun additions for the basket. A water bottle with a team logo is another fun and useful gift.
-
5
Include tickets to a football game. It may not be possible to include tickets to a professional football game, but most towns and cities have high school or college football games that are fun to attend.
-
6
Assemble the basket. Try to make most of the gifts visible by filling the center of the basket with paper filler. Wrap the basket in cellophane and tie it together with ribbon. Select ribbon colors to match the fan's favorite team colors.
