How to Complete a Football NFL Scores Table
Instructions
-
-
1
Create a table that is composed of two spaces for team names and five places for each team that represent its quarterly scores and final score. This is known as a two-by-six table. The team names are in the first spaces, followed by the four quarters, followed by the final score.
-
2
Place the visiting team in the first place on the top row, followed by the home team in the first place on the bottom row.
-
3
Insert the points each team scored in its respective row over the next four quarters. For instance, if the New York Giants scored 10 points in the first two quarters, 14 points in the third quarter and zero points in the last quarter, the next four columns would read 10, 10, 14, 0.
-
4
Add the points together for each team and place them in the last column. Using the example above, the Giants would have 34 points.
-
5
Add additional information such as the month and day and the television station the game is carried on. If you are checking the table during the game, it will also provide the quarter that the game is playing in and the time remaining in that quarter. Also, the team with possession will usually have a little football next to its name, signifying that it has the ball.
-
6
Repeat these actions for all the games that week. Up to 16 football games are played in any given week during the season. "Bye" weeks are built into the schedule to give each team a week off.
