How to Change the Weights in an Odyssey SRT Putter

Movable weight technology has become a growing trend with all golf equipment, especially drivers. Recently, some companies have introduced the features in irons, wedges and putters. The Odyssey White Hot SRT putter does not feature the technology of a Taylor Made driver with twist-on, twist-off weights, but has a perimeter weighting system that can be changed with a tool and instructions from a handbook. These adjustments can ensure that golfers of all abilities perform at their best on the putting green.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide where you would like the weighting concentrated on your SRT putter. Heel-toe perimeter weighting helps correct an open or closed putter face at impact. Weighting deep in the putter face or behind the sweet spot will allow for a truer roll on center hits.

    • 2

Place the putter, with the back facing you, on a counter or other surface. Take the extra weights and place them within arm's reach.

    • 3

Put the weight tool on the weight to be removed. Since the tool is molded to the shape of the weight, there should not be much tension and the weight should turn easily.

    • 4

Twist the tool counter-clockwise to remove the weight. There is a screw inside the weight itself, and this should begin moving just before the weight itself.

    • 5

Take the new weight from your pile of spares and place it inside the thread. Reverse the steps above to install the weight: Turn the tool clockwise to tighten and secure.

    • 6

Ensure the new weights are fastened securely by shaking the putter and moving it back and forth. Step up and start making more putts with your new SRT configuration.
