How to Change the Battery in a SkyCaddie 2

SkyGolf is a golf equipment manufacturer and the maker of the SkyCaddie line of portable golf GPS units. With a membership, the SkyCaddie 2 provides detailed distance and range information for the specific course you are playing on. This technology is similar to what a PGA professional caddie would provide to the best golfers in the world. The SkyCaddie 2 features a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that allows for many hours of use.

Instructions

  1. Remove the battery

    • 1

Loosen the three recessed screws on the back of the SkyCaddie 2 with a small Phillips screwdriver. Carefully open the plug on the side of the SkyCaddie.

    • 2

Hold the GPS unit in your hand with the screen facing downward and gently pull down the front plate of the unit.

    • 3

Put the bottom half of the unit on a table with the belt clip facing down.

    • 4

Push up on the plastic bar -- if present -- on the right side. If there is no plastic bar, simply unplug the battery and remove.

    Install the battery

    • 5

Insert and plug in the replacement battery at the bottom of where the circuit board is located. Be sure to place the red wire on the left.

    • 6

Place the battery into the battery compartment and set the wires along the top of the battery.

    • 7

Place the front half of the GPS unit onto the back half, align the sides and connect them.

    • 8

Carefully press the two halves together and replace the screws.

    • 9

Place the rubber plug back in the right hand side of the SkyCaddie.
