Specifications of a Cobra S2 Fairway

Golf manufacturer Cobra released the S2 series of clubs in 2010. Among them is the Cobra S2 Fairway, a wood intended for use on the fairway when you are still a good distance from the hole and need power. The face of the S2 Fairway is made so that you don't have to hit it dead center to still make an accurate shot with the distance you want.
  1. Loft

    • There are three different S2 Fairway club models. Among them are the three, five and seven woods. The three wood has a loft of 15 degrees, while the five wood has 18 degrees of loft. Seven wood loft is 21 degrees.

    Lie

    • Lie is 57 degrees for the three wood and 58 degrees for the five wood. Seven wood loft measures 59 degrees.

    Size

    • The three wood is 43.5 inches long, while the five wood measures 43 inches long. The seven wood is the shortest in the series at 42.5 inches. All three clubs have a 65 gram shaft, so they weigh the same. Swing weight is rated at D3 for all three S2 Fairway woods.

    Availability

    • The S2 Fairway woods are available in both men's and women's versions. The three and five woods are made for right- and left-handed golfers, while the seven wood is made only for right-handed players.

    Composition

    • The S2 Fairway clubs feature a Cobra Fit-On Max 65 FW shaft made out of graphite. The shaft is available in three different levels of flexibility ranging from loose to rigid. The kick point, torque and trajectory are all considered to fall in the middle ground for fairway woods. The head and face are made out of 17-4 stainless steel.

    Design

    • The club face is set up to give you a larger area to successfully strike the ball. The sole is designed to avoid clumsy hits when making a shot off thin fairway grass. The face features contours and grooves to impact the ball. The thin shape of the face is intended to increase club speed. The clubs come with Cobra Golf Pride grips with ridges for a better grip.
