How to Change the Battery in a HealthRider

HealthRider's line of fitness equipment includes exercise bikes, treadmills and ellipticals as well as many accessories. Most of its equipment features a control console to monitor your progress, heart rate and pulse. The control consoles use battery power which does require replacement from time to time. Changing the battery in a HealthRider depends upon the piece of equipment you own. The general process, however, is the same on all of the equipment.

Things You'll Need

  • Replacement batteries (AA or D depending on equipment)

Instructions

    • 1

Find the battery compartment on the control console. The battery compartment is either on the rear of the control panel or at the top of the control panel depending on the equipment.

    • 2

Slide the battery compartment door away from the control monitor with your thumb. Place your thumb over the center of the door, push down slightly and slide it off.

    • 3

Remove the batteries from the control monitor. The traditional HealthRider uses AA batteries, while some of the larger equipment use D batteries.

    • 4

Insert the new batteries into the control console. Use the stamp printed on the inside of the battery compartment as a guide to the direction of the positive and negative sides of the batteries.

    • 5

Line up the battery compartment door over the groove in the control console. Slide the door into position until it locks in place.
