      Locate the round, red battery cover on the front of the tool.

      Insert the edge of a coin into the slot on the round cover.

      Hold the coin firmly and use it to twist the cover a quarter-turn counterclockwise.

      Remove the cover and set it aside. Remove the old batteries and properly discard them.

      Insert the two button cell batteries, positive-side up, into the battery compartment.

      Replace the battery cover in the open position and then place the edge of a coin in the slot. Twist the cover a quarter-turn clockwise until it is securely closed.

      Press the "Mode" button to make sure the batteries are installed and functioning correctly.
