Hockey Camps in Saskatoon

Hockey camps, particularly in the summer, are a popular way for Canadian children to improve their skills, stay sharp during the off-season and simply have fun with friends.   1. Excel Hockey Program

    • The Excel Hockey Program has offered hockey camps for 30 years and was formerly known as Seymour-King Hockey School after it’s founders, Bill Seymour and Dave King. The instructors at the school include many former CHL, NCAA and Canadian university hockey players and coaches. The school runs a number of programs ranging from a summer day school for players between the ages of five and fifteen that focuses on fundamentals and fun to elite level camps for pee-wee and bantam aged players. Week-long camps run in August and rates start at $125.

    Canadian Ways Hockey

    • Canadian Ways Hockey runs a number of programs ranging from skills development for novice players to intense camps for midget AAA and major junior level players who are looking to take the next step to the professional level. Canadian Ways offers once a week programs that run in May, June and August as well as three to five day long camps in the summer months. Rates start at $150 for a three-day power skating camp.

    Canlan Ice Sports

    • Canlan Ice Sports offers hockey camps catering to a wide variety of ages, skill levels and development goals. Their weeklong camps are offered in July and August and include specialized camps focused on speed and agility, shooting and scoring and breakaways. Most of the camps are for children between the ages of eight and 12, though there is a special “Tips for Tots” camp for children aged three to five. Canlan also offers one camp exclusively for girls. Rates for a five day camp start at $139.

    High Tempo Hockey Camps

    • High Tempo offers girls-only hockey mini-camps at the Aberdeen Rec Complex, about 25 miles north east of Saskatoon. High Tempo has been operating all female hockey schools in western Canada for 10 years and aims to give girls a chance to fully develop as hockey players in a supportive environment. Three different camps, divided by age, offer skill development for girls between the ages of seven and 17. Rates for a three-day camp are $239.
