Michigan's ice hockey and field hockey camps offer a variety of training options and venues.
  1. Red Berenson Hockey Camp

    • The Red Berenson Hockey Camp in Ann Arbor boasts an organized practice schedule, a modern ice hockey rink, dormitories, and an experienced training staff. Camp sessions are five days long and fees include both room and board (three meals per day), as well as the necessary gear and equipment.

      The camp provides training for three age groups: 10 to 12; 13 and 14; and 15 to 17 years old. Lessons are divided into three main categories. Basic skill instruction includes puck-handling, shooting, and passing. Team play skill training focuses on the aspect of offense and defense. And the power skating method teaches players how to be agile and comfortable on the ice.

      Participants must submit an application and a non-refundable deposit before being considered for enrollment.

    Canlan Hockey Camp

    • The Canlan Hockey Camp offers a week-long program which includes athletic conditioning, skill development and off-ice activities for children of any age and ability.

      This camp also offers two specialized classes. The first focuses on power-skating and skills such as the forward and backward stride, balance, edges and

      stopping. It also teaches puck control, shooting, passing and receiving. The Hockey for Tots program is specifically for 3- to 6-year-olds who are already comfortable enough on ice skates to walk or glide by themselves.

    Michigan Field Hockey Camp

    • The Michigan Field Hockey Camp provides three-day training sessions and participants have the choice of staying overnight (board and meals included in the price) or commuting to the camp each day.

      Required equipment includes sticks, shin guards, mouth guards, and goalie equipment if you are a goalie. The camp sessions consists of training videotapes, staff demonstration games, and question and answer sessions. A nearby camp store carries hockey sticks, shin guards, stick bags, apparel and other items.
