Hockey Camps in Marquette, Michigan

The city of Marquette is the most populated city located in the Upper Peninsula of the state of Michigan. Marquette has deep hockey roots, with teams ranging from the Marquette Sentinels and Marquette Electricians at the youth and midget/junior level to the Northern Michigan University (NMU) Wildcats at the NCAA Division I Collegiate Level. The Sentinels and Electricians play out of Lakeview Arena, while NMU plays at the Berry Events Center. Also, the Marquette Rangers of the North American Hockey League played at Lakeview Arena from 2006--2007 to 2009--10 but have since relocated to Flint to become the Michigan Warriors. Hockey camps in Marquette are mainly associated with these organizations.
  1. Big Cat 3-on-3

    • The Big Cat 3-on-3 is a clinic run through Northern Michigan University. The age range is from mite to bantam level and the clinic is located at the Berry Events Center. The purpose of the clinic is for youth players to develop their in-game abilities while having fun. The staff simply organizes camp participants into 3-on-3 game format. Players must supply full equipment, including face shield and water bottle. The cost in 2010 was $135 per skater and $95 for goalies. Camp registration is done through NMU Intercollegiate Athletic and Recreational Sports department.

    NMU Summer Day Camp

    • The Summer Day Camp through NMU is designed for teaching participants the fundamentals of hockey and how to best use them to become a complete hockey player. The age range is from mite to bantam level and the camp is also located at the Berry Events Center. Players must provide full equipment, including face shield and water bottle, as well as clothing and a stick to be used for off-ice training. The cost in 2009 was $345 per person, which included lunch. Camp registration is done through NMU Intercollegiate Athletic and Recreational Sports department.

    Marquette Electricians Midget/Junior Elite Conditioning Program

    • The Elite Conditioning program is designed for players at the midget/junior level and is affiliated with the Marquette Electricians Midget AAA team. Players interested should be seeking intense training in order to continue development for the tryout/tournament season. The camp is limited to 25 to 30 players, includes 21 hours of strength, conditioning and plyometric workouts, 13.5 hours of on-ice training and is also located at the Berry Events Center. Interested players should contact Electricians head coach Mike Dagenais.
