Ice Hockey Rinks in New Jersey

New Jersey has long been a hotbed for hockey, thanks in part to the state’s own National Hockey League team—the New Jersey Devils—and its proximity to other NHL teams like the New York Rangers and New York Islanders. The Garden State also has several ice hockey rinks spread out across the area. Each offers plenty of ice for players of all experience levels, including a few extras like pro shops.

    • Floyd Hall Arena in Little Falls, New Jersey hosts a slew of hockey activities, from inline hockey to several ice programs. In addition to hockey skill clinics held throughout the season, various hockey development camps are offered to younger players. A spring league is offered during the off-season, prior to summer maintenance. During the season, players are divided by skill levels, even those just picking up a hockey stick for the first time. Floyd Hall Arena also hosts an all-female travel team, the Quarry Cats, that regularly compete in tournaments across the state. Pickup hockey is also available for varying age groups nearly year-round.

    • Ocean Ice Palace in Brick, New Jersey has long been home to a popular mail-order and in-person pro shop, and it is also the official arena for the Jersey Hockey League (JHL). In addition to the usual hockey offerings like summer leagues, skill camps and pickup hockey, the JHL showcases the best players in the area, divided into varying skill and age levels. Ocean Ice Palace’s impressive pro shop offers nearly everything a player might need, from large-ticket purchases like goalie pads to accessories like socks and tape.
