Hockey Camps in Illinois

Hockey camps are held in ice arenas located throughout the state of Illinois. During the offseason, players attend hockey camps to improve their stickhandling, skating and shooting skills. Many of these camps are offered to adult as well as youth players. Goaltending camps often are separate from skater camps, but some hockey camps offer both. By attending camps, players can maintain familiarity on the ice during the offseason.

  1. CCH Xtreme

    • CCH Xtreme is a hockey camp founded by Atlanta Thrasher's Chris Chelios. CCH Xtreme offers developmental hockey training to youth and adult players. Camps and clinics offered at CCH Xtreme include shooting and scoring, defenseman clinics, goaltending camps, and stickhandling clinics. CCH Xtreme camps are offered at more than 20 arenas in Illinois during the summer.

    Puckmasters Hockey Training Centers

    • Puckmasters is a year-round hockey training facility available to youth, high school and collegiate players. It is an international organization with training camps in 25 locations in the United States and Canada. Summer camps focus on increasing skater and goalie skills and physical conditioning. It employs a three-phase system in three different environments that trains players on all levels of play. The Puckmasters in Illinois is located in Lake Bluff, about five miles south of Waukegon.

    National College Development Clinic

    • National College Development Clinic is a traveling clinic instructed by NCAA hockey coaches. It offers two-day clinics for youth players that focus on physical and mental aspects of the game. Players receive one-on-one personal skill development with an NCAA instructor. The clinic offers sessions every summer at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, about 15 miles northwest of Chicago.
