Hockey Camps in Ontario

Hockey camps in Ontario, Canada provide players of various skill levels and ages the opportunity to strengthen their individual and team playing skills. Most camps focus on improving players puck handling, shooting, scoring and skating abilities on ice, while increasing players agility and conditioning. Camps for adults and children range from beginner to intermediate, while elite training camps are offered only for advanced players. Camp fees vary depending on the type of program and player skill level.
  1. Canadian Pro Hockey Clinic

    • The Canadian Pro Hockey Clinic (CPHC) offers more than 60 hockey camps and programs year round in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Camps are offered during December, March and over the summer holidays. As a prerequisite to camp enrollment, players must already know how to skate.

      A three-day Power Skating and Hockey Skills Camp takes place in December. The camp provides two to three hours of on-ice practice to help improve players overall hockey skills. March Break Hockey Camps focus on improving players skating techniques, positioning and game strategy. During the summer the following camps are offered: half-day camps; teen hockey camps; skating, puck handling, & scoring; advanced hockey skills; defense, forward and goalie camp and a specialized girl's camp. These camps are focused on providing players with the overall skills to improve their stick handling, agility, individual and team playing ability.

      CPHC also offers a week long Hockey and Soccer Camp -- the camp combines three hours of hockey instruction with two hours of soccer instruction. An Elite Hockey Skills camp provides players with advanced instruction in puck handling while skating at full speed or accelerating. The Elite Hockey Skills camp is only for players who have been accepted into A, AA or AAA teams.

    Canlan Hockey and Sports Camps

    • Canlan Hockey and Sports Camps offers week long hockey camps for players aged four to 13. Players learn proper skating techniques and team-building skills. Canlan offers a High Performance Hockey Skills Camp where players receive instruction in proper conditioning and technique. Qualified instructors provide players with on-ice practice and off-ice skills training to builds players strength and agility. The Girls Only High Performance Hockey Skills Camp is designed to improve players individual skills and provide extra conditioning and drills to strengthen agility, puck handling and team skills.

      The Skating, Shooting & Scoring Camp is designed to help players improve and strengthen their existing puck shooting and scoring skills. Breakaway 3 on 3 Hockey Skills Camp provides players with the opportunity to practice and strengthen their defensive and offensive skills.

      Canlan also offers a Hockey Tips for Tots Camp designed for players aged four to six years which exposes players to the basics of hockey. Elite and Girls Only Powerskating & Hockey Skills camps are offered for intermediate players who want to focus on improving their stick handling and passing skills. A Preseason Conditioning Camp is offered for players who want additional conditioning before their hockey league or division season begins.

      Canlan Hockey and Sports Camps are offered throughout Ontario in Etobicoke, North York, Oakville, Oshawa and Scarborough. The Canlan Hockey and Sports Camps facility in Etobicoke houses four rinks, a hockey store, and restaurant with spectator seating and a view of the four arenas.

    Rocky Ridge Ranch

    • Rocky Ridge Ranch is a an inter-denominational Christian Ranch which offers a week long hockey camp during the summer. The hockey camp is designed for children aged nine to 15. The daily camp program includes: two hours of on-ice instruction, power skating drills, teamwork activities, conditioning exercises, offense/defense practice, stick handling skills, passing and shooting exercises. The camp also focuses on using creativity to play smart hockey. Players also take part in daily off-ice activities which include: swimming, horseback riding, agility training, cooperative games and skills development.

    Roger Nielson's Hockey Camp

    • Roger Nielson's Hockey Camp is an accredited member of the Ontario Camping Association (OCA) and the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA). The camp has been in existence for 34 years.

      Grassroots Day Camp is offered for players aged six to 14. The camp designed to improve players individual skills and strengthen teamwork ability. An Elite camp is also offered for advanced players playing at the intermediate, AA or AAA level in a hockey league or division. A goal tending program is integrated as part of the regular hockey camps.

      Team Play and Skills Development 1 and 2 is designed for players aged eight to 16 to improve their defense, forward and goal tending skills. Players practice during the day and play a team game during the evening. Players also view instructional videos of professional hockey players as part of their skill development. Elite Training and Conditioning 1 and 2 is designed for advanced players currently playing at top AA/AAA levels.

      Adult Skills Development Camp are offered for players aged 18 and older. The camp is held weekday evenings and is suited for beginning players and those playing in recreational hockey leagues.     Teen Ranch

    • Teen Ranch offers a week-long hockey camp for players aged seven and up. The Ranch is managed by a non-denominational Christian non-profit organization and is located in Caledon Hills, 45 minutes from Pearson International Airport. Several camp programs are offered including: father and son, elite training, girl's hockey and team training camps. Players receive video analysis of their on-ice performance and are taught offensive and defensive and team playing skills. Players receive off-ice nutritional counseling, circuit training and sport specific workouts, in addition to 17 hours of on-ice time. Horseback riding, swimming and basketball activities are available.

    Winning Techniques Hockey Camp

    • The Winning Techniques Hockey Camp offers week-long, overnight or day camps for children aged four to 16. The camp program includes: 10 hours of ice time and on-ice instruction; five hours of off-ice training; and 1:6 instructor to player ratios. A maximum of 24 players and two goalies can be enrolled in each camp. The camp focuses on shooting, checking, agility, endurance, teamwork, and offensive and defensive playing techniques. Specific training is provided as part of the camp program for goalies. Players are filmed during play and evaluated by professional instructors for proper technique.
