Horse Boarding Schools

Horse boarding schools are for horse lovers that want to receive a quality education while incorporating an equestrian program into their daily learning. These students go to school with other students with the same interests in horses. Extracurricular work advances skills in riding, jumping and other equestrian events.
  1. Stoneleigh Burnham School

    • The Stoneleigh-Burnham School is a private boarding school for girls in grades 7 through 12. According to the school's website the school has one of the most nationally-recognized, extensive and challenging scholastic programs in the country. Riders receive instruction in hunters, jumpers, equitation and dressage. They provide riding competitions both on the school grounds and off. Students can bring their own horses for boarding.

    The Thacher School

    • The Thacher School has been called the house of stone because of their rock-solid values. Founders believed that academics, when combined with the mountains, horses, sports and arts, would build students with strong characters and values. Students in grades 9 to 12 are taught responsibility in the school's horse program. Students in grades 9 to 11 are required to spend one athletic season per year in the horse program.

    Foxcroft School

    • The Foxcroft School, founded in 1914, is a boarding school for girls in grades 9 through 12. The riding program was emphasized at the schools inception. Foxcroft offers instruction to all levels of horse riders and sponsors many riding competitions and teaches students in dressage, hunters, jumping and seat balance. The school encourage students to bring their own horses.

    Andrews Osborne Academy

    • The Andrews Osborne Academy offers a high quality education for day students ages 3 to grade 12 and boarding students in grades 7 to 12. According to the school's website, the equestrian program at Andrews ranks among the best in the country.
