Hockey Camps in Northeastern Ohio

Hockey camps are designed to help hockey players develop skating, stick handling, shooting, passing and other skills. Northeastern Ohio and the greater Cleveland area are home to dozens of hockey camps where players can take their skills to the next level. Camps are available for all levels of youth hockey, from mite up to midget or high school level. There are also camps available specifically for goaltenders.
  1. Kent Hockey Schools

    • Kent Hockey Schools operate out of the Kent State University Ice Arena in Kent, Ohio, just south of Cleveland. These camps have been in operation for over three decades and are available for all youth hockey age levels, including mite, squirt, peewee, bantam and midget (15 to 17 years old). Kent Hockey Schools also offer camps for goalies and special advanced camps for bantams, peewees and midgets. All camps offer at least three hours of ice time a day, plus dry land activities and a one-hour daily controlled scrimmage. The camp director is veteran hockey coach and player Bill Switaj (former Boston College goalie and Kent State men’s team head coach).

    Cleveland Heights Developmental Camp

    • The Cleveland Heights Developmental Camp offers a late-August summer session divided into two groups of 35 players: mites and squirts, and peewees and bantams. Each daily session is separated into four parts: ice skating skills, video analysis, individual skills and team skills. Players work in a variety of different offensive and defensive situations such as 1 on 1, 2 on 1, and 3 on 2, all designed to reflect actual game situations. Space is limited, so registration early in the summer is recommended.
