1
Preheat the oven to between 160 degrees and 180 degrees Fahrenheit.
-
2
Place the skates on a baking sheet. Make sure that the laces are loose so you are not pulling and playing with the skate after it is heated.
-
3
Shut off the oven when it has reached optimal temperature. This is an important step because you don't want to cook or melt the skates. You simply want to soften the memory foam.
-
4
Insert the skates into the oven on the baking sheet. The reason you use a baking sheet is because you don't want burned, grill like, marks on your skates.
-
5
Check on the skates regularly. Most skates will only take eight to 10 minutes to soften, but its safer to check them every few minutes.
-
6
Place the skates on your feet and lace them up as tight as possible. Start tightening from the bottom and work your way up. This ensures that your skates have a good grip on your feet for molding.
-
7
Remove the skates after wearing them for about 15 to 20 minutes. By now, they have had time to cool, but let them sit for another 24 hours before using them. This allows the skates to set properly.
