Sweden is one of the top countries in Europe for ice hockey. If your son or daughter is interested in attending hockey camp in Sweden, there are a number of options to choose from. Hockey camps that are open to American players are often very selective and expensive, especially when you factor in air travel. However, training with experienced Swedish coaches can provide the opportunity of a lifetime for developing players.
  1. Hockey Camp Sweden

    • Founded in 1993, this hockey camp near Stockholm is open to players ages 15 to 20. In addition, Hockey Camp Sweden offers two special one-week camp sessions. One is exclusively for players 18-and-older. The other is for players ages 9 to 14. Coaches and trainers from Canada, Sweden, Russia and the United States have extensive experience training junior hockey players from around the world. Sessions are offered throughout June and July. Players receive three hours of daily on-ice instruction, including advanced power skating sessions, shooting techniques and puck control. Strength training and sessions on mental preparation are also included.     Planet Hockey

    • Colorado-based Planet Hockey offers a combination hockey camp, international tournament and family vacation package in two Swedish cities: Stockholm and Gothenburg. The Planet Hockey package includes accommodations, meals, guided city tours and custom player package, including jersey, socks and team hat. The camp features eight hours of on-ice training (in addition to five tournament games) with European coaches, skills competition, dry land training and classroom sessions. Players must be recruited or cleared to participate after meeting the requirements for Planet Hockey's selective programs. Coaches may apply with an existing team or a team specifically assembled for the tournament and camp.

    Swedish International School of Hockey

    • The Swedish International School of Hockey, or SWISH, is an elite camp for experienced female players from around the globe. The camp is designed for players whose ambition is to play for their country’s national team. The program emphasizes technical and tactical hockey through intense on-ice and off-ice training. SWISH invites top scouts, coaches and agents from Swedish clubs and American university teams. SWISH is located in the town of Landskrona about one hour from Copenhagen. Players’ families can enjoy golfing, beaches, hiking, shopping, museums, water sports, restaurants and nightlife.
