How to Assemble a Traditional Muzzleloader

- Rubber mallet
- Appropriately sized screwdrivers

Place the barrel of the gun into the groove in the top of the stock piece. Press the barrel pins into the corresponding holes on either side of the barrel. If necessary, tap the pins in with a small rubber mallet.

Tighten the tang screw, located at the back of the barrel, using an appropriately sized screwdriver. The tang screw adds pressure to the back of the barrel, holding the entire assembly into place.

Slide the lock into place over the barrel.

Secure the lock by tightening the enclosed screws through the lock and into the barrel, using an appropriately sized screwdriver.

Slide the ramrod into place.

Test the lock in both half-cocked and fully-cocked positions to ensure it seats correctly. If the lock is slightly out of balance, loosen the lock screws, slide the lock forward or back, and retighten the screws.
