How to String a Gait Torque

Gait Torque is a brand of lacrosse heads. These heads can be purchased unstrung, which makes them less expensive, and then you can string them yourself using a mesh pocket. Like a pair of lace-up shoes, lacrosse heads can be strung in a variety of ways. Apart from the advanced performance qualities of the Gait Torque, it is particularly simple to string. Once you have practiced it a few times, it will take you just a few minutes to string one. The strings you need will be included with the mesh pocket you purchase. There are plenty of pockets available from sports stores and the Internet.

Instructions

  1. Top Strings

    • 1

Place the net on a flat surface with the wides part at the top.

    • 2

Place the Gait Torque head on top of it with the handle end at the narrowest part of the net.

    • 3

Thread a lace through the top hole on the left sidewall, and make a small knot at the end of the lace to secure it in place.

    • 4

Thread the other end of the lace through the first mesh hole in the first row of the net. Push the lace back through the same top sidewall hole.

    • 5

Thread the lace through the next large hole on the head and the fourth mesh hole in the net.

    • 6

Continue threading the lace through the large holes on the top of the head and through the mesh holes in the net, so that it is evenly distributed across the head.

    • 7

Push the lace through the top hole on the right sidewall and knot it to secure it in place. You have now completed stringing the top string.

    Sidewalls

    • 8

Thread the lace through the sidewall hole below the top string, knot it in place and thread the other end through the end mesh hole in the second row of the net. Pulling the net tightly to the head.

    • 9

Continue threading in this manner through the third and fifth holes on the sidewall.

    • 10

Continue threading down the sidewalls, gently loosening the tension of the lace as you go. Your tension will depend on your specific preference.

    • 11

Thread the lace through the last sidewall hole and last mesh hole, pull tightly and secure with a knot.

    • 12

Repeat the process on the other sidewall.

    Bottom String

    • 13

Thread your lace through the far-left hole and secure it in place with a knot.

    • 14

Thread the other end of the lace through a mesh hole toward the noddle of your net. Which row you select will depend on your tension preferences. Somewhere from row 20 to 22 is common.

    • 15

Thread the lace through the last hole on the far right and tie a knot to secure it. You have now strung the bottom string of the Gait Torque head.
