How to Dye Your Lacrosse Stick With RIT Dye
Instructions

1
Remove the head from the lacrosse stick by removing the two screws located on the right and left side of the head with a screwdriver. Pull the head off the lacrosse stick. Untie and remove the netting, or pocket, from the head to prevent it from being dyed.
-
2
Plug a sink or tub with a drain stopper and fill it with enough hot water to completely submerge the lacrosse stick. For best results, boil six gallons of water on your stove. Remove the boiling water from the burner and allow it to cool for five minutes before pouring it into the tub.
-
3
Put on a pair of latex gloves to protect your hands from becoming stained by the dye.
-
4
Pour eight ounces of liquid RIT Dye into the hot water and stir the dye into the water using a stainless steel spoon. Mix different bottles of liquid dyes together to create almost any color you'd like.
-
5
Place your lacrosse stick and head into the sink or tub. Agitate the stick and head in the dye water with a stainless steel spoon to ensure both are dyed evenly.
-
6
Lift the stick and head out of the water after 10 minutes of dyeing time. Unplug the drain, run cold water from the tap and continue on to the next step if you're satisfied with the color. For a darker colored stick, submerge the stick and head back into the dye water for an additional 10 minutes or until you're happy with the color.
-
7
Rinse the lacrosse stick and head under cold tap water until the water runs clear. This will remove excess dye and seal the color in to prevent bleeding and fading.
-
8
Dry your stick and head with a dish rag or towel.
-
9
Secure the head back onto the lacrosse stick and place the screws back into the head with a screwdriver. String the pocket back onto the head of your dyed lacrosse stick.
