How to Indian Leg Wrestle
Indian leg wrestling is an old-fashioned way for boys to be rambunctious and test their strength against one another. As arm wrestling tests the strength of arms and shoulders, Indian leg wrestling tests legs, abdominals and lower backs. The motions needed to win resemble a modern, collegiate wrestling move called the "Turk" only in reverse. While the Turk is used to put an opponent on his back, the point of Indian leg wrestling is to turn your opponent in the opposite direction.

1
Spread a blanket or pad on the ground or floor of an open room.
-
2
Lay side by side with your opponent with your heads and feet pointing in opposite directions. Leave your hands and arms at your sides.
-
3
Raise your inside leg to a fully vertical position three times -- on the count of "one," "two" and "three." Both opponents should raise their inside legs simultaneously on each count.
-
4
Hook legs with your opponent on the count of "three." The opponent who hooks usually has a slight advantage in leverage over the opponent who is hooked.
-
5
Win by pulling your opponent's leg down or by turning your opponent off his back and onto his side or stomach using only one leg.
