Instructions for the Rossignol FKS 155

Rossignol long has been a leading name in ski equipment. Rossignol makes everything from boots and bindings to jackets and goggles. Skiers and ski racers around the world respect the Rossignol KSS 155 binding because of its perceived quality and its reputation for dependability and performance. Normally, the people who sell Rossignol bindings also install them, but some skiers insist on mounting the bindings to the skis themselves. There really is no guesswork involved, because Rossignol makes templates available for installers.

Instructions

    • 1

Inspect the boots that the skier will use with the Rossignol FKS 155 bindings, ensuring that they meet the specifications for boots that are usable with the bindings. Ensure that there is not excessive wear or warpage on the boots. Replace the boots if needed.

    • 2

Position the mounting template so that the two yellow grips are facing away from the installer.

    • 3

Rotate the yellow grips on the template toward each other in order to open the clamps on the bottom of the template. Position the template flush on the ski, and release the yellow grips.

    • 4

Release the template-adjusting lever, located on the opposite side of the ski from the operator and slightly off center. Place the boot in the template and adjust the template. Lock the adjusting lever after adjusting the template to the boot.

    • 5

Align the center mark of the boot with the center mark of the ski in order to center the template.

    • 6

Remove the boot from the template without unlocking the locking lever.

    • 7

Selected the size drill bit recommended by the ski manufacturer, as indicated in the window on the ski. Mount the drill bit in a cordless drill. Drill mounting holes in the skis that are the size and depth recommended by the ski manufacturer. Using the guide holes in the template, follow the instructions in the Quicksilver-Rossignol binding tech manual. Mounting screw placement is different for adults and children. Turn the ski over to remove debris from the holes.

    • 8

Rotate the yellow grips of the template toward each other to release the grip from the ski, and remove their grip from the ski.

    • 9

Cut threads and the holes using a tap, if the ski manufacturer recommends tapping. Turn the ski over again to remove any debris.

    • 10

Squeeze a small amount of ski binding glue into each of the mounting screw holes.

    • 11

Place the binding on the ski, aligning the mounting holes in the ski with the holes provided in the binding.

    • 12

Insert all the screws loosely, and tighten them with a #3 pozidrive screwdriver.
