The Dynastar Agyl 8 is a Nordic type ski. This means that the heel of the ski boots do not attach to the ski, the key factor which differentiates them from alpine skis. The Agyl 8 is for general trail and downhill usage. Popular Nordic skiing types include cross country, telemark skiing and biathlon.

The Dynastar Agyl 8 is an intermediate level ski, designed for those still developing their skiing skills to achieve the higher level skills, such as performance carving. However, the ski is suitable for a wide range of abilities, including: advanced, all round, pleasure and even off-piste skiers.

The Agyl 8 Nordic skis from Dynastar are manufactured with a lightweight and flexible Dynapreg multi-cell core, coated by a fibreglass layer. The base of the ski is from high molecular weight graphite material and designed to provide smooth gliding and edging, as well as being suitably durable.

The Dynastar Agyl 8 comes with five different lengths: 55.12 inches or 140 centimeters; 59.05 inches or 150 cm; 62.99 inches or 160 cm; 66.93 inches or 170 cm; and 70.08 inches or 178 cm. It has a side-cut radius of 16 meters, which is the amount of curve present in a ski. It's measured as the radius of a circle which continues from the curvature of the ski. In addition, the skis weigh 3 pounds (1.36 kilograms).
