Atomic RS-11 Ski Specifications

Atomic skis were used by Olympian Giorgio Di Centa and World Cup cross country champion Tobias Angerer. The RS-11 model is designed specifically for speed and stability. Atomic Skis no longer manufactures the RS-11 model but you can purchase it online or at sporting goods stores. The R-11 must be used with Atomic alpine bindings.
  1. Size

    • The R11 is available in four sizes: the 174-cm atomic ski fits riders between 116 and 143 lbs.; the 180-cm ski fits riders 132 to 165 lbs.; the 186-cm ski fits riders 149 to 176 lbs.; the 190-cm ski fits riders 180 to 220 lbs.; and the 192-cm ski fits riders 180 to 220 lbs. Taller skiers should choose the larger size that fits their weight.

    Sidecut

    • Available sidecuts are 41, 44, 42 and 43.5-inches. The sidecut of skis is the distance between the waist of the ski board and the imaginary line that connects the tip and tail of the ski. The larger the sidecut, the sharper the ski turns.

    Weight

    • The skis weigh 1,000 grams, or 1 kg.

    Appearance

    • Atomic R-11 skis are white and red with black lettering. Their foot-holds are white and plastic. Lettering displays "Atomic R11." The first 10 inches of the ski have a "javelin" cut that gives the ski an hourglass shape, which gives the ski extra stability.

    Price

    • As of December 2010, the ski costs between $250 and $300.
