Instructions

  1. Getting from the Gondola to the top of the California Side

    • 1

Get on the gondola at the base of the mountain. The gondola ride takes about 13 minutes and provides breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe.

    • 2

Exit the gondola and carry your skis or snowboard to the Tamarack Express lift. It is slightly uphill from the gondola to the Tamarack Express, which makes it easier to just carry your equipment.

    • 3

Ride the Tamarack Express lift. This is a 6-person high speed chair lift that goes over one of Heavenly's terrain parks.

    • 4

Exit the Tamarack Express to the right and get on the California Trail. Make sure to stay on the California Trail until it ends. This run is rated an intermediate trail and will take you from Nevada into California.

    • 5

Get on the Sky Express lift. The Sky Express lift is right next to the Canyon Express lift, but both of them are clearly labeled.

    • 6

Ride the Sky Express lift all the way up and it will drop you off at the top of the California side of Heavenly Ski Resort. The views of Lake Tahoe are quite stunning from up here at an elevation of 10,040 feet.
