How to Mount Marker Ski Bindings

Marker USA produces boots and bindings for downhill and alpine-touring skiing. The bindings produced by the company use the industry standard DIN settings to give them customizable settings for your skiing abilities and weight. The key to usage with these bindings is mounting them properly. Mount your Marker bindings in your own workshop. The process takes about half a day. Be sure to test the bindings on a small and gentle slope before heading out for more advanced terrain.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the skis on the work bench and secure them using the ski vises. Make sure the deck--or top--of the skis are facing up.

    • 2

Measure out the distance on the waist of the ski--the middle--to set the bindings. Consult the binding installation guide, included with the Marker bindings. Each different binding made by the company has a different setting chart.

    • 3

Place the toe and heal pieces onto one ski according to the measured distance recommended by Marker. Drill out the attachment holes on the ski by aligning the bindings where the holes will be placed.

    • 4

Screw in the bindings to the ski. Pop open the bindings once secured. Insert the ski boots to test the binding placement and distance. Remember, before drilling, measure twice and drill once. Pop out the boots. Consult the Marker DIN chart and adjust the DIN screw at the back of the binding using the screwdriver. Turn to the right to go up on the DIN scale or to the left to go down. Watch the DIN dial indicator, in the rear of the binding, until you reach the recommended setting.
