- Cloth measuring tape
- Goggles
Instructions

1
Determine the circumference of your head in centimeters using the measuring tape.
-
2
Locate a size chart for the brand of helmet you are testing. Make sure your head circumference is as close as possible to the median number for the helmet size you choose (e.g. if a large helmet fits a 57 cm to 59 cm head and you measure 58cm, this is a good starting point).
-
3
Confirm that the adjustment dial in the back of the helmet is on its largest setting.
-
4
Place the helmet on your head and align it so that the front sits just above your eyebrows.
-
5
Turn the adjustment dial on the back of the helmet so that the inner fit guide closes snugly around your head.
-
6
Fasten the chin strap, making sure to fine-tune the strap length so that it feels secure.
-
7
Check the helmet for gaps. Assure the padding around the helmet rests comfortably on all areas of your head.
-
8
Roll the helmet forward and backward on your head. If the skin on your forehead moves with it, you have a good fit.
-
9
Lengthen your goggle strap so that it will accommodate the helmet. Place the goggles over the helmet and your eyes.
-
10
Assure your goggles fit properly across the front rim and sides of the helmet. If the goggles push on helmet, this is not a proper fit.
-
11
With ample head protection, you can ski like a kid again. Use your gut instinct. If the whole package feels comfy, then hit the slopes. If you feel a headache coming on, choose another size, model or brand.
